Laboratory experience in one or more: ELISA assays, flow cytometry methods, biospecimen collection, processing and archiving, cell culture.
Management of large data sets and statistical analysis.

Standing or sitting up to 8 hours/day, lifting <30 lbs, may view computer up to 8 hours/day. Comfortable with human and/or animal sample exposure.

Flexible, generally Monday-Friday 8-5, some weekend, evening or night duties depending on research projects.

This position is part of an effort to develop a research program in translational and clinical research in pediatrics (TCRP) in partnership with Kentucky Children’s Hospital (KCH). The successful candidate will have a desire to develop their career in alignment with the program goal of addressing aspects of child health and disease in the region KCH serves.

Excellent laboratory skills with hands on expertise in one or more of the following: ELISA assays, flow cytometry methods, biospecimen collection, breakdown and archiving, clinical methods, vascular function, phlebotomy.

Must have excellent communication skills, an interest in clinical and translational research development and project management, medical writing (including grant proposals and publications), and grant submission management. Effective participation in team-oriented project development and management is vital to success in this role.

Additional skills in data management, generating data tables and graphic representations with software engineering/programming capabilities a plus.

Should be comfortable with clinical enrollment and consenting with knowledge of regulatory functions and oversight.

Should have advanced training/education in one or more of the following disciplines: epidemiology, pharmacology, nutritional sciences, other medical/clinical or similar discipline. Management of large data sets, and statistical analysis experience. An interest and/or track record in environmental health issues, clinical pharmacology/toxicology/drug development, and/or regional health concerns is desirable.
