The Corporate Finance General Accounting COA Governance Lead Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Project Manager and will be responsible for supporting aspects of the design and migration from ADP's current Chart of Accounts (COA) structure to one single Global COA. This individual will required to analyze a great deal of data in the NA, EMEA, APAC charts and providing insights and recommendations and implementing rationalization opportunities of the current chart. He/She will also responsible for assisting to obtain the requirements for the future Code Block and mapping the current code block to the new Code Block. He/She will also work with the project team leads to transform Accounting processes, for example, Intercompany, fixed assets, etc. This person will be tasked to work with the multiple finance & accounting areas to understand and document reporting/accounting requirements and ensure that these are included in the design of the Code Block and future GL processes. This person will be responsible for contributing to the change management and communications throughout the initiative. Once the new code block goes live will be responsible for the following:

  • Governance of Chart of Accounts definitions, hierarchies, and values
  • Global FDMEE Location owners for all mapping updates, changes, etc.
  • Responsible for updates to sub-ledgers, primary ledgers & secondary ledger, Hyperion Planning and HFM Alignment and execution of changes for all GLs globally
  • Support questions for code block from the organization
  • Continue to work on eth code block for further alignment opportunities
  • Applies Finance and Accounting background to manage a detailed project plan, issues and risks logs, and related action items while ensuring that all dependencies and associated risks are resolved and managed with cross-team/functional involvement
  • Travel, as needed, to design and/or solution with respective subject matter experts
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and standardization of global financial and operational Chart of Account governance, policies and procedures so as to enable the preparation of complete and accurate financial statements with the potential to foster more efficient or automated ways to analyze data necessary for external and internal reporting.

  • Lead the analysis of data to ensure proper rationalization and clear definitions of the GL code block.
  • Ensures that key controls in place are assessed and amended, as necessary, based upon the nature of transformation initiatives and that post-implementation they are functioning in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley Legislation
  • Coordinates user acceptance testing and user back-end training for all Finance & Accounting location
  • Assists the development and execution of change management communications. Perform other related duties as assigned (duplicate line below - but should be updated as Essential)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent in education and experience.
  • CPA preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Finance/Accounting
  • The candidate will have strong organizational awareness and experience in managing complex transformation initiatives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to forge effective working relationships working with an expansive, cross-functional leadership team.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial systems, HFM and Oracle Platforms
  • Detail-oriented and must be able to efficiently collect and analyze data
