Job Summary

The University of Kentucky Office of Philanthropy is seeking a highly qualified candidate to manage and assist with Trust and Estate matters. The successful candidate in this position will work closely with various units of the university’s financial services team and the Gift & Estate Planning (GEP) department to administer trust and estate proceeds. In order to close gifts of trusts and estates, s/he will work with executors, personal representatives, trustees, attorneys, fund administrator and investment advisors to complete the transfer of estate, trust, beneficiary, insurance and annuity distribution gifts to the university. S/he will also work closely with internal units, including gift receiving, university financial services, college and unit philanthropy and business officers, to determine and implement the proper use of the gift proceeds.
This position will provide vital assistance in data administration for the GEP, to update and maintain PG Calc GiftWrap software with current and accurate data regarding these gifts and insurance policies and other expediencies. S/he will manage and administer the charitable life insurance pool, reviewing annual statements, working with insurance agents, and preparing donor communications as well as managing communication of premium notices to donors.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Technical experience with Microsoft Office, Excel and data entry. Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively and persuasively.

Preferred Education/Experience

Paralegal Certification; Certified Financial Planner (“CFP”); Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”); and Chartered Life Underwriter (“CLU”).
