Required License/Registration/Certification | National Pharmacy Technician Certification from PTCB or ExCPT with designation of CPhT is required for consideration of this position or Intern license with UKCOP and registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy (KBOP) is required within 30 days of new hire if not previously registered as a pharmacy technician in KY. Must renew registration with KBOP on day 1 if lapsed. |
Physical Requirements | May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 30 pounds. |
Shift | Shifts may be assigned to work during operating hours of Monday-Friday (7:15am-midnight), Saturday and/or Sunday shifts per location operating hours. May work in our 24/7 operation at Chandler Retail Pharmacy which may include overnight shifts. Operating hours and days of operation are subject to change based on location of assignment. May be required to work on some holidays which currently are being rotated by all Ambulatory Pharmacy Services staff. Available shift hours varies based on needs of the department. |
Job Summary | Assists pharmacists in medicine preparation and distribution in a UK HealthCare Retail Pharmacy. Fills prescriptions in a busy retail based setting. May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Requires attention to detail and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be reliable and punctual. This position also requires teamwork, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate and be understood in the English language. |

Preferred Education/Experience | One year previous work experience (preferably in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain certification as CPhT from PTCB/ExCPT during employment in this position. Salary based on experience and certification. High school diploma or equivalent required. General chemistry knowledge, basic algebra, and proficient reading/writing in the English language, preferred. |
