Required License/Registration/Certification | Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. |
Physical Requirements | This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications). |

Job Summary | The Inpatient Pharmacy Senior Technician is responsible for maintaining stock inventory, including participating in the ordering process and ensuring proper storage and dating; processing, dispensing and delivering patient specific orders to assigned areas with timeliness and efficiency; replenishing automated medication dispensing cabinets; assisting in the training of newly hired technicians, interns and student learners, and supporting the department with a patient-centered approach. The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience. The University of Kentucky considers the health, safety and well-being of our entire community to be a top priority.
