This position requires the ability to work with a laptop computer performing tasks such as data entry, repetitive motions (such as typing), and most of the time, walking to the patient’s bedside requires standing or walking with objects up to 10 lbs. while completing tasks. Requires the employee to complete SOAR and Kynector training within the first 30 days of employment. This position is located at the hospital campus and is not subject to being eligible for remote work.

Primarily 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday, some holidays and weekend shift will be required

Patient Financial Representatives -Financial Counselor, ensures department policy and the procedure is fully understood and followed. A Patient Financial Services-Financial Counselor Representative’s primary responsibilities include customer service, bedside screening, department-specific tasks, administrative duties, communication skills, and accurate documentation. Representatives’ duties include following direct supervisor directives, ensuring patients receive superior service through quality work, and ultimately contributing to the successful resolution of their financial distress.

The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess in-depth HIPAA knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.

Associate degree; third party insurance claims follow-up/collections experience; and medical, office and/or clerical work preferred. Previous experience working with patient accounts/HIPAA is highly preferred.
