Job Summary | A busy academic medical center seeks to find an experienced medical transcriptionist. The Medical Transcriptionist will oversee the accurate and timely production of anatomic pathology and cytology reports. The transcriptionist may receive and accession specimens, handle equipment maintenance, prepare reagent and/or perform other duties as assigned in their designated area. Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, enthusiasm, and diplomacy is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in data entry and computer software applications. Must be detail oriented and enjoy working in a team environment. This employee must be highly organized with great interpersonal skills. Medical terminology knowledge is required, and 2 years of anatomic pathology transcription experience is preferred. This position will work closely with pathologists, residents, laboratory staff, and College of Medicine colleagues.
