Job Summary | The Department of Product Design in the College of Design seeks applicants for a part-time faculty position to teach PRD 151: CAD II. As the second of three CAD courses in the PRD curriculum, this 1-credit course focuses on learning Autodesk Fusion 360. In addition to training students in the use of this CAD package, the instructor should be able to bridge concepts of software skill acquisition with design process. The College of Design has digital fabrication equipment to support some physical output from course lessons and learning objectives including 3D printing and laser cutting. Interested applicants should complete an online application and include the following: • Curriculum Vitae highlighting product development experience and CAD knowledge. • 3-5 links to project examples where you’ve utilized CAD for product design or development (include links in a document uploaded as Specific Request 1) • Names and contact information for two (2) references who can speak to the candidate’s teaching abilities and specific CAD experience/knowledge. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | • Strong verbal and written communication abilities. • Proficiency with specific CAD software (Autodesk Fusion 360). • Knowledge of digital fabrication workflows. • Ability to quickly learn and utilize the university’s course management system (Canvas). |
