O&M Operation Advisor will advise and coordinate with the Customers opeartion team to ensure effective and efficient operation of the power plant.
The person will advise customer to take measures to maintain the chemistry of water and steam systems including Boiler chemistry within the prescribed Limits.
He will advise and support the Operations Manager for the overall management required to operate the plant in safe, smooth and efficient manner.
**Job Description**
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Advise the customer Operation Manager on the development and recording of applicable plant operations data and provides input to maintenance data.
+ Support customer Operation Manager to develop and implements operational strategy consistent with achieving maximum plant efficiency to meet customer requirements in the most safe, reliable, economical and environmentally safe manner.
+ Ensure compliance with requirements for environmental, health and safety requirements in plant operations.
+ Support customer Operation Manager to establishes and maintains sampling programs to ensure that the chemistry specifications for site equipment and systems are maintained for the required operating, shutdown, or lay-up condition.
+ Insure that the Permit To Work (PTW) and Log-Out/Tag Out (LOTO) System used by customer team is in accordance with the policies and procedures
+ Support and review development and implementation of operating procedures for major systems using Facility designers operation manuals/procedures and equipment Vendors' instructions.
+ Recommend Facility modifications and upgrades to the Customer to enhance plant reliability and performance.
+ Co-ordinate with GE O&M Centre of Excellence (CoE) team, GE Engineering and other O&M support team for the resolution of complex issues relevant to operations.
+ Drive optimization of plant operating strategies with the aim of achieving lower cost operation and/or increased efficiency and output.
+ Advise customer Operation Manager on preparation of plant operating logs covering critical plant operating parameters and ensures necessary review and analysis to proactively identify potential problems.
+ Support on plant root cause analysis for the technical events.
+ Ensure the training and qualification of the operations team
+ Advise the Customers team to operate the water treatment plant and chemical dosing systems to meet the treated water and steam quality specifications as required by the Original Equipment Manufacturer and applicable regulations
+ Advise and support Customers team to issue Confined Space Entry, Gas Free Certificate etc., as and when required under the Plant Safety rules for on-going jobs.
+ Advise the Customers team to maintain records and reports related maintenance works.
+ Ensure compliance with GE and Customers EHS policies, programs & procedures as applicable
+ Advise the Customer for control of all maintenance documents as outlined in site Quality Management System
+ Assists the training and qualification of Customers operations team as per guidelines of the contract.
+ Any other job assigned to him by management.
**Qualification & Experience:**
+ Graduate Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls from an accredited College or University.
+ Proven years of combined cycle power plant O&M experience.
+ Fluency in English and French languages.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
**Desired Characteristics** :
+ Strong project management, problem solving and organizational skills
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of an organization.
+ Knowledge of Arabic language will be an advantage.
+ Experience of costing, planning and managing plant outages
+ Proficiency with computer tools
+ Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training is preferred
+ Ability to apply statistical methods for process improvement.
+ Experience of using Computerized Maintenance Management System (Preferably COSWIN (v.8i).
**Direct reporting :**
O&M Advisory Manager of respective site (Skikda)
**Job Location :**
Job will be based primalarly on Skikda CCPP with potential mission to other O&M site in Algeria.
