POSITION SUMMARY
-
Is currently licensed by the North Dakota Board of Nursing/Advance Practice Standards as an APRN, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Is responsible for the primary care delivery of clinical nurse practice to the patients receiving services at Trinity Mental Health. Is a primary care provider for all age groups with common, acute, and emergent mental health problems. Is directly involved in delivery of health promotion activities, illness prevention, illness care, patient education, and counseling. Works directly with the psychiatrists and other medical health providers in mental health assessment and in determining medication needs, educating on benefits and side effects, and in answering questions related to the delivery of care. Provides health education for patients. Works in the hospital, outlying clinics, and/or nursing home in the delivery of quality health care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Licenses and Certifications Required

Licensed with Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice RN/Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Maintains certification as an APRN and meet the requirements of the certification ANCC. For prescriptive authority must maintain requirements of the ND Board of Nursing.

Education as required to obtain and keep current ND APRN license.

Psychiatric medication management for all ages.

Must maintain a collaborative relationship with a psychiatrist at the facility.
