Physical Requirements | The essential functions for this position include the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50pounds ; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments. |
Shift | Days, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Other days and hours as needed. |
Job Summary | The Nurse Cardiovascular Coordinator will provide the necessary skills, guidance and education to patients and staff to insure that the care provided is efficient and cost effective as well as being of the highest quality to our very rapidly growing Cardi-oncology program population. This position will be responsible for patient care and program coordination, in support of the duties listed above. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following: provide direct service and/or consultation to both medical and nursing staff for complicated patient situations and assess patient situations at an advanced level of expertise using reestablished conceptual frameworks. Select alternative interventions as appropriate. Systematically assess clinical quality and practice patterns and monitor to ensure compliance with clinical standards and protocols and inherent processes. This position will also be essential in leading coordination of care with social worker, dietitian, vocational services and preventive cardiology. Be responsible for assisting and collaborating with nurse manager, nurse educator and physician colleagues. |
