  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Serves as Lead Technologist by assisting other technologists, ensuring quality, facilitating efficient clinical work flow and handling difficult situations as they arise.
    • Performs quality and compassionate patient care in order to ensure patient cooperation, safety and satisfaction.
    • Performs high quality dynamic, static, SPECT and PET/CT imaging procedures utilizing patient protocols to obtain the desired diagnostic patient information for the referring physician.
    • Performs various radiopharmacy duties including receipt, preparation, administration and storage of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals to ensure safety and integrity of agents used.
    • Performs quality control procedures to ensure optimal performance of gamma cameras, PET/CT camera and other auxiliary equipment.
    • Practices safe handling of radioactive materials according to departmental, State and NRC regulations to ensure minimal exposure to self and others.
    • Keeps proper records for Radiation Safety Committee under the guidance of the RSO.
    • Responsible for maintaining dosimetry records for all required employees.
    • Analyzes and maintains ongoing departmental CEPs records.
    • Maintains certifications and completes all mandatory and continuing educations requirements.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
    • Licenses and Certifications Required
      • ARRT(N) or NMTCB
      • NDMIRTBE licensed
    • Educational Requirements
      • Graduate of an accredited school of radiology with proper post graduate certifications
    • Experience Requirements
      • Working knowledge of Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures
      • Must have a knowledge of Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT department current diagnostic imaging procedures
    • Special Skills or Training Requirements
      • Proper credentials
      • Utilizes tele-radiology equipment as needed
      • Utilizes hospital information system and radiology information system as required for charges and proper patient status
      • Verbal ability
      • Manual dexterity
      • Spatial perception
      • Numerical ability
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities
      • Ability to adapt and learn new protocols on new equipment as purchased
      • Other skills and cross-training as needed to be defined by Department Director
      • Supervisory ability
      • Ability to communicate intelligently with physicians and other hospital personnel
      • Ability to perform high quality procedures
