Were looking for an experienced CPG National Account Manager thats independent, strategically focused, and possesses a Hunter mentality who will interact with our Leadership Team, manage both existing and new retailers, distributors, and broker partnerships. The National Account Manager (NAM) is responsible for developing, executing, and fostering collaborative business partnerships between National Food Group and large retail, distributor and broker partnerships that deliver volume, share and profit objectives for the Company. This role will build, manage and execute Joint Business Plans with our partners, including brokers.  Your understanding and experience with Nielson/IRI, consumer, and shopper data will be utilized to drive and maximize results for Zee Zees distribution in the retail market and during partner annual reviews.  Your existing relationships, knowledge, and experience will help foster new opportunities for Zee Zees fueling growth with both new and existing customers.  Your knowledge with the customer at multiple levels, including Buyers, DMMs, and GMMs will facilitate connectivity within other functional areas including Creative Services, Purchasing, Product Development, and the Leadership Team.  Your experience managing large regional, national, distributor, and broker partnerships will allow you to work independently delivering results and demonstrating the highest level of integrity.

Primary Responsibilities



  • Deliver revenue and profitability targets

  • Use your established network and experience to effectively recruit, hire, negotiate, and manage existing and new brokers

  • Build customer relationships at the Buyer, Divisional Merchandising Manager (DMM) land General Merchandising Manager (GMM) levels

  • With your experience using both Nielson/IRI data previously, discover opportunities to implement strategy/recommendations to grow market share, sales, and profits

  • Manage existing accounts growing organically while hunting for new customers

  • Develop and execute customer/category strategic development and annual operating plan for each customer

  • Negotiate and manage trade funds to create customer and company value by consistently measuring and enforcing trade terms while identifying opportunities for improvement 

  • Work with purchasing to develop accurate sales forecasts, achieve specified levels of forecast accuracy, and minimize short dated and excess situations that negatively impact gross profit and supply issues for your customers

  • Monitor the competitors' brands and products as well as our market share, competitor market share, and target market share to understand shopper trends and opportunities

  • Work with Creative Services and Purchasing to implement methods that assist our customers in effectively and creatively winning with their consumers, shoppers, end-users, and purchasers through promotions, packaging and merchandising

  • Understand key retailer requirements for strategic partnerships, collaborate with internal organization and develop plan to attain

  • Drive category, sales growth, markets share & brand representation with existing key retail partners to ensure success and maximize organic growth opportunities

  • Possess an in depth understanding of pricing, trade spend, and freight impacts internally and externally to maximize gross profits and gross revenue

Requirements And Minimum Education Level



  • Bachelors degree required



Experience/Key Competencies



  • 7+ years sales and/or trade experience managing both National and Distributor Accounts, specifically Retail/CPG customers and broker networks, preferably in consumables

  • Prefer experience managing multiple channels of trade with retail channels in consumables

  • Experience managing trade spend and promos effectively with strategic accounts and understanding their impact financially

  • Experience negotiating, developing, implementing, and executing strong promotional plans with both retail and distributor accounts

  • Initiative & follow-through

  • Solid analytical skills and acute attention to details

  • Strong project management skills

  • Possess a clear understanding of pricing, pricing elasticity, and discounting

  • Experience building relationships, retailer/wholesale negotiations, creating and executing joint business plans with retailers

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and exceptional drive for results

  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with daily interaction with the CEO & Owner

  • Proven ability to lead cross functional team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to present data in an organized manner

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously

  • Conflict Management/Composure; Technical Knowledge

  • Experience communicating and translating retailer requests & insights to internal stakeholders and developing actions plans

  • Challenger brand experience preferred and demonstrated success implementing with large regional or national retail partners



You must be:



  • Willing to spend between 30-40% of your time traveling

  • Open to learning and coaching in order to facilitate rapid Zee Zees growth

  • Possess an aggressive hunter mentality to open new customers and grow Zee Zees with existing customers

  • Embrace the challenge of pioneering in retail and CPG industry

  • Able to work independently and effectively communicate with the leadership team

  • Good at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
