Job Description

Teva Pharmaceuticals is looking to fill a Mechanic II at our Salt Lake City, Utah site. Under general supervision, this role performs limited or routine preventative maintenance duties in ensuring that pharmaceutical manufacturing machines and equipment are properly maintained or repaired and assists skilled mechanics in performing complex maintenance duties.


Shift: Wednesday-Saturday, 5:00am-3:30pm


Job Responsibilities & Duties:
 Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
 Assists in troubleshooting or performing necessary repairs on various types of production and packaging equipment.
 Performs routine preventative maintenance on production/manufacturing machinery according to PM schedules.
 Performs general maintenance including welding and basic electric; fabricates and installs parts when necessary, and documents all repair or maintenance work done on any equipment.
 Assists senior mechanics in performing maintenance duties.
 Performs related duties as assigned.
 Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
 Equipment operations and maintenance practices.
 Standard Operating Procedures for equipment operations including safety rules and regulations.
 Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic control systems.
 Mechanical and electrical principles and applications.
 Food or pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
 Performing preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment and operating systems.
 Complying with all Company policies and procedures.
 Following all Company safety rules and regulations, recognizing hazards and taking appropriate corrective action.
 Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
 Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
 Understanding and following written and oral instructions.
 Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
 Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with individuals contacted in the course of work.
 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
 High School diploma or equivalent, and prefer hands-on or vocational school training
 Minimum of two years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing environment; preferably in food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
