Job Summary |
Provide Massage Therapy services; Conducts brief assessments of all new massage therapy clients and documents findings Provide safe, effective and appropriate massage services to clients based on individual physical and health-related needs Ascertain precautions/contradictions for massage prior to each session; Explains procedures and applies techniques appropriate to clients’ needs and preferences-80%
Develop Referrals; Develop collaborative relationships and partnerships with physicians, nurses, staff, for referrals and coordination of care. Promote programs and services to clients, faculty, staff, employees and community members-10%
Refer patients to other specialties including Integrative Medicine modalities when appropriate; Participate in department events; Demonstrate massage therapy services, distribute information about massage and Integrative Medicine programs, teach self-care, participate in other Integrative Medicine activities including research-10 % |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Knowledge of medical terminology; hospital-based massage therapy/or/oncology massage therapy training; knowledge of pathology and best practices with medically complex patients; Reiki; Reflexology; orthopedic and clinical applications of massage therapy |
