Job Summary
·        Meet regularly with Associate Director to create, organize, and execute signature King Center programs such as Catapooloza, King Café/Word is Born, Martin Luther King Legacy Week, etc.
·        Completes the Program Proposal for multicultural programming centered on these three focuses: empowerment, educational development, & cultural awareness under the supervision of the Assistant Director and in collaboration with entire interns team. Present Program Proposal to the MLKC leadership team for approval during bi-weekly staff meetings.
·        Create forum and dialogue sessions that relate to issues of race, class, gender, and a variety of multicultural identities for MLKC’s Plated Discussion Series every Third Thursday of the month
·        Serve on atleast one Cultural Heritage Month planning committee. 
·        Recruit students, organizations, and departments to participate in MLKC programming through tabling throughout the school year.
·        Meet one-on-one with the Associate Director bi-weekly (minimum) in order to effectively balance academics, personal and MLKC obligations
·        Serve as office consultant for registered student organizations who apply for MLK Student Diversity Grant
·       Serve as a MLKC Staff member, participating in regular staff meetings, retreats, & trainings, and working at least 5 MLKC events a semester
 
Signature Programming Interns are expected to demonstrate high levels of confidentiality and a desire to learn new skills.  The students in this position must be a self-starter and have an understanding of working in a professional environment, and have excellent customer service skills.  This position requires a positive attitude and a willingness to assume a variety of roles.  The Signature Programming Intern is expected to report to work on time, dressed appropriately and show respect for colleagues in the workplace.
