**Job Description Summary**

The Marine Technical Sales Leader will be responsible for all technical activities associated with marine tendering. You will work closely with the Sales team and potential customers to identify/ qualify opportunities. You will lead the effort of the application engineering team to create technically compliant proposals for customer opportunities. You will develop the regional technical strategy for all opportunities. You will work closely with the Marine Business Leader to achieve business targets

**Job Description**

**Roles and Responsibilities**

+ Develop and manage the technical strategy for all opportunities during the bid phase

+ Possesses specialized knowledge of GEPC Marine product lines, regional capabilities, markets segments, sales processes, and customer base.

+ Possesses strong commercial awareness, and is expected to develop the strategy to maximize GEPC content and value proposition

+ Ensure that technical content is delivered in the timeframe required for the bid

+ Standardize/ Streamline the GEPC Marine Technical Offering tools for the Americas with focus on reduced time to quote and maximized value of the content

+ Compile data from existing tenders to develop market level pricing references for quick reference

+ With cooperation from sourcing department, work with suppliers to build a robust network of capable suppliers

+ Ensure completion of technical analysis of request for information (RFI) or request for quote (RFQ)

+ Oversee the development of the technical solution for each bid with focus on technical compliance, value proposition, and customer needs.

+ Participate in defining, selecting and optimizing the products and systems proposals

+ Oversee the technical risk and mitigation strategy

+ Ensure completion of Technical Risk Assessment (TRA)/ Technical Sign Off (TSO) and Transactional Compliance Plan (TCP)

+ Develop equipment and engineering schedule and cost, with focus on internal policies and procedures, as well as customer schedule requirements

+ Lead Standardize equipment engineering specification sheets (ESS) for GEPC Marine offerings

+ Provide technical expertise for discussions with potential customers

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a marine engineering or service role)

+ A minimum of 5 years experience with GE Power Conversion Marine Products and Systems- Automation, Dynamic Positioning, Power Systems, Propulsion Systems

+ A minimum of 3 years experience leading teams in a marine technical sales, engineering or service capacity

+ Must be a US citizen. Due to the nature of the work being performed this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
