Role Summary:The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for developing a vision and leading manufacturing operations to meet the scheduled activities of the Manufacturing Group. Leads the daily shift activities in their assigned production areas and works with team members to cultivate a winning manufacturing attitude and creative work environment to achieve the defined objectives in safety, quality, delivery, cost and people.

Essential Responsibilities:Key responsibilities include:

Works with other managers throughout manufacturing to generate continuous improvement ideas and spearheads the implementation of those ideas that lead to bottom line results.

Strong ability to influence, communicate and drive change across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

Driving lean manufacturing, including manufacturing process excellence and continuous improvement, daily management & standard work, and breakthrough/kaikaku mindset.

Track and report metrics in their functional area to include labor hour consumption, work order completion, inventory accuracy, throughput, capacity and customer complaints. Establish team goals that meet or exceed established quality standards.

Develop and manage operational budget for their functional area.

Implement business unit objectives and manufacturing department goals in each functional area, including driving decision-making responsibility and accountability for key operational initiatives

Monitoring and improving productivity, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner

Maintains accountability for the training, development and performance management of team members in a functional area, including the developing training plans to maximize workforce capability

Leading Compliance, as well as Environmental, Health & Safety efforts in support of plant goals

Quality Specific Goals:

Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Maintaining full Quality System Regulation and Current Good Manufacturing Practices requirements

Maintaining full regulatory compliance and other legal requirements


1. BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent

2. 7 years experience with proven leadership in manufacturing or supply chain role

1. MBA or Master Degree

2. Proven mentoring and coaching abilities, demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others

3. Demonstrated leadership, energizing teams and project management

4. Ability to successfully motivate and maintain high moral, employee involvement, safety and teamwork in an union environment

5. Six Sigma trained with demonstrated ability to apply tools and process rigor

6. Demonstrated ability to deliver results in an ambiguous environment

7. Proven leadership skills (experience successfully managing people/projects/issues)

8. Change agent with energy, passion & enthusiasm to drive change

9. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, teamwork & networking skills

10. External Focus: Understanding customer needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends, & the competitive landscape in the industry/function & considering the external impact of business activities & decisions on the external environment

11. Inclusiveness: Energizing others by building a connection with the team through personal involvement & trust & providing feedback & coaching to help develop others

12. Clear thinker: Simplifying strategy into specific actions with clear accountability, making decisions with speed & accuracy based on best available information & communicating priorities clearly & concisely
