JOB SUMMARY


The Manager, Program Management Office (PMO) is an integral member of Reliance Technology Solutions (RTS) and manages day-to-day activities in the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure IT programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements.  Implements and provides guidance related to PMO processes and policies, oversees the work of project management staff, and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.  Risk identification and mitigation is a crucial component of this role as is the ability to communicate effectively across project teams, key stakeholders and management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead, coach and mentor a team of Project Managers. Model and coach on expected behaviors that are consistent with the RTS Operating Norms.
  • Instill project management discipline and focus to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high quality delivery, and high customer satisfaction
  • Develop opportunities for cross-team effectiveness and remove organizational barriers for strong teamwork, collaboration and excellent service delivery
  • Deliver solutions that meet business goals and operational requirements within scope, on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to design, communicate and implement strategies, standards, processes and services that support effective project and program delivery
  • Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies and processes in the assigned areas of responsibility. Recommend and apply technologies and processes to continually improve our processes and services
  • Build and maintain strong and strategic partnerships across the Reliance Family of Companies, Corporate, and within RTS
  • Comply with all internal and external policies and procedures including the Architecture Standards, Security, Project Management Methodology, Software Development Lifecycle, Change Management, Procurement and Finance, proposing improvements where applicable

  • Participate and provides leadership within domain expertise and broader knowledge of other domains for medium to high complexity projects in implementing systems and ensuring design is consistent and well integrated with existing conceptual, logical and physical architectures

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent work experience in a related field required
  • 5+ years of resource management experience in a large enterprise environment required
  • 5+ years of experience managing large, enterprise-level projects (e.g. ERP implementations) within an IT environment
  • 7+ years of project management experience required
  • Solid knowledge and experience using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • PMP certification is required
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding Project Management Skills (Planning, Organization, Multitasking, Communication, Cost Management, Scope/Risk/Issue Management, Vendor Management, etc.) and knowledge of corresponding tools
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required
  • Possesses strong experience with managing both applications and infrastructure projects
  • Ability to lead and influence a diverse team operating in a matrix environment
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
