Manager of Business Solution and Strategy - Digital Integration and Predictive Technologies (DIPT) team


What you will do

In this vital role you will be part of our Digital Integration and Predictive Technologies (DIPT) team who is tasked with helping find ways to harness Amgen's data. DIPT falls within Process Development (PD) and is responsible for taking Amgen from data-rich to decision-smart.

The Business Solutions and Strategy team is passionate about improving DIPTs performance, primarily through the detailed analysis of existing business problems, project management and the development of plans for improvement. The team supports initiatives related to organizational change management, technology implementation, strategy development, and overall operations. Simply said, the group's goal is to empower DIPT's scientist to do what they do best - science.

Responsibilities will include:

Program Management:
  • Effectively collaborate and coordinate with Amgen teams in the development and execution of key programs - particularly as they relate to new platform technologies
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects at any one time with excellent follow through

Operational Excellence:
  • Advise and collaborate with DIPT leadership and other key stakeholders in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining best practices, and policies
  • Builds and maintain relationships with internal and external counterparts
  • Organization management, including developing and mentoring staff

Strategy Planning:
  • Partner with DIPT team members to understand current and future needs and develop a clear vision and strategy for execution

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree


Master's degree and 4 years of business planning and execution experience


Bachelor's degree and 6 years of business planning and execution experience

Professional Experience:

  • Proven experience as a member and leader of a large high performing cross-functional teams
  • Display a pragmatic, consultative approach combined with expertise in project management
  • A self-starter who is organized, intuitive and a collaborative problem-solver with the ability to be effective in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written to all levels of the organization as well as externally to suppliers and partners in a prepared and ad-hoc manner
  • Proficient in teaching and / or describing the benefit of project management methodology and tools
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills, including financial analysis and reporting

Preferred Experience:

  • Advanced degree in science, engineering, or business (MBA) from a premier school
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Familiarity with: SharePoint, SAP, MS Teams, SmartSheet, infinity and other Amgen systems
  • Ability to travel: Domestic and International ~20% (post Covid)
