Job Description

The position is responsible for championing a sustainable Environment Health and Safety (EHS) culture to ensure employee Safety & Health and to protect the Environment, in order to enable compliant operations and business effectiveness.



All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position by any incumbents with reasonable accommodation if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in other related duties or assignments.


Lead EHS Regulatory Compliance

  • Provide guidance to site managers and employees, conduct internal and support external audits, to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
  • Design corrective and preventative action plans.


Design and Implement Annual EHS Plan

  • In collaboration with the site leadership team, create, implement, monitor and update the site EHS plan.


Monitor, Analyze and Share EHS Information

  • Provide necessary information and data to site managers and supervisors, Global EHS and other internal and external stakeholders, in order to support the achievement of EHS objectives and enhance Tevas reputation.


Promote a Sustainable EHS Culture

  • Create and maintain an EHS culture throughout the site that inspires a proactive attitude and a firm belief that target zero is achievable. Create a space where people can speak openly and are encouraged to present new ideas about EHS stewardship.


Provide Expertise, Guidance, Coaching and Training

  • Develop and implement training programs, provide coaching, expertise and guidance to managers and employees of the site.


Lead Continuous EHS Improvement

  • Lead continuous improvement in EHS using Operational Excellence principles and visible-felt leadership to achieve 'target zero' goals and to enable compliant operations and business effectiveness.


Site Leadership Team Member

  • Serve as an influential member of the site leadership team, who impacts decision making and takes an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, team work and collaboration across site functions.


Member of the Global Network & Professional Community

  • Bring global best practices into the site and actively share site perspective, knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support a best-in-class professional level of EHS globally.


Manage Relations with Regulatory Agencies, the Local Community and external suppliers

  • Develop trusted and proactive relationships with regulatory agencies, local community and external suppliers to promote compliance and social responsibility, in Teva's business interest.


  • Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.



  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably an engineering degree or related science-based degree.
  • Advantage: Degree in safety/ industrial hygiene/ ergonomics/ environment.
  • Exceptions will be examined individually.
  • Master's Degree Preferred.
  • Professional certifications a must when required legally.
  • Other professional certifications, i.e. CSP, CIH - Preferred.



  • Practical experience with site EHS programs or have implemented or ran other programs in a highly regulated environment, i.e. Production/ Quality/ Engineering.
  • TAPI sites require advanced technical knowledge in Process Safety or Chemical engineering, practical experience of performing complex risk assessments, and adequate knowledge of applicable hazard communication and right to know regulations, e.g. REACH, GHS, OSHA, WHIMS, etc., for the countries they operate in or interact with.
  • Basic experience with management systems such as ISO9001; ISO 14001; OHSAS18001.
  • Technical knowledge in EHS (such as: waste, water, air emissions, audit and inspection, industrial hygiene, hazard communication, ergonomics, lab safety, process safety and EHS management systems).
  • Basic knowledge of local current and upcoming legislation and current best EHS practices.
  • International experience is an advantage. Basic knowledge of OPEX principles and tools.
  • Basic project management knowledge and experience. Adequate experience in working with matrix environment.
  • English Proficiency - Business and EHS specific.



  • Approximately 30% domestic travel
