The Manager, Client Analytics manages team assigned by category/vertical.  Drives client analytics strategy, leveraging partners in targeting and campaign analysis.  Takes learnings at scale across clients and categories for specifically assigned verticals based on best practices and client objectives.  Works with other functions in creating demand for Valassis analytics to strengthen client relationships.  Supports proprietary Valassis targeting tools and benchmark data process.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with sales to meet directly with clients for strategy and problem solving sessions.  Present Client Analytics capabilities at a high level.
  • Manage a book of client analytics business by assigned vertical(s), including:  upfront consultation on strategy, partnership within Client Analytics team and across functions.  Present analysis and recommendations to clients as needed.    Work with disparate sources of data
  • Manage and develop team.  Provide leadership in coaching and mentoring other associates along with serving as a point-of-contact in a leaders absence.  Support and promote organizational strategies and goals, maintaining a positive team dynamic.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and propose sales opportunities by leveraging syndicated and proprietary data and resources
  • Represent the voice of the client and the consumer in balance with corporate objectives and goals
  • Support sales process by developing content for and attending key client meetings and planning sessions
Knowledge/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics or related field and 3-5 years experience in producing client media strategies OR transferable internal work experience.  Experience in managing people.
  • Computer literate proficient in Power Point, Excel, Word, database experience a plus (advanced)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of all relevant business relationships and partnerships within the company
  • Responsive and organized.  Proactive in understanding scope of project, not just task-focused.  Inquisitive about bigger picture.
  • Strong experience with different sources of data, proper citation, statistics
  • Knowledge and experience in industry trends and syndicated data sources
  • Ability to present presentations to large and key groups, persuade individuals/groups and negotiate effective solutions between key clients.  Strong ability to deliver key message both verbally and in writing without going into too much detail.  Same ability for explaining detail for the correct audience
  • Experience in digital analysis and metrics and multi-channel campaigns.  Ability to draw conclusions and attribute value to integrated campaigns
  • Ability to show leadership in cross functional groups and with internal partners.  Strong interpersonal skills.  Ability to make quick decisions, seek approval when needed and ensure most efficient use of team's time.  Keen understanding of when and what to share with leaders.  Change agent - positive and supportive of changes in the organization.
