**Job Description Summary**
This is a new process with new equipment that will be installed in the Greenville GE Power facility. The system will be used to support repair of gas turbine components and will also be used to develop faster and more cost efficient repairs. Operators will be required to learn, operate, monitor, & maintain a Fluoride Ion Furnace and associated equipment, processes, and functions. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology Associates Degree (at a minimum) is required. For example, IET, EET, MET, and Mechatronics.
Duties:
Operate a variety of equipment and processes (based on Cell) on various turbine components: Vacuum Plasma Spray (VPS) coat, internal coat, vacuum heat treat, Hydrogen Furnace (HF), Fluoride Ion Furnace (FIF), Fluoride Ion Cleaning (FIC), Salt Bath, and Brazing
Troubleshoot and maintain all equipment, including coaters, furnaces, vacuum pumps, power supplies, gas, water, chemicalsetc.
Disassemble and reassemble a variety of hardware components, including gun and powder feed equipment, and all other associated equipment.
Assist manufacturing leaders and process engineers in root cause analysis and corrective actions of defects
Engage with continuous improvement projects for Lean initiatives
Fully document all operations and maintain a clean and safe work environment
Perform other assigned duties as required
Qualifications:
Must have Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology (at a minimum). For example, IET, EET, MET, and Mechatronics.
Previous manufacturing experience as a production operator, team-lead, technician, or engineering/process technician is a plus
Must be willing to maintain state-of-the-art technical competence in required areas through self-study and various technical programs.
Previous experience operating or maintaining process controllers such as: a) CNC; b) NC; c) Mark IV's; d) PLC's; e) etc.
Must have the ability to read and understand statistical process charts and adjust process as required to maintain control
