Job Summary |
The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Kentucky invites applications for the position of Lecturer. Exceptional candidates at the Senior Lecturer level may also be considered. This is a non-tenure-eligible 9-month faculty position in the Lecturer Title Series, with duties oriented primarily towards undergraduate instruction in the new aerospace engineering program. The initial appointment is for two years and is renewable. The anticipated start date is August 2023. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or a closely related field). Priority will be given to applicants with significant industrial experience. Professional licensure is also desired. The position will be primarily responsible for teaching laboratory and capstone-design courses in the aerospace engineering curriculum along with other aerospace courses aligned with the candidate’s areas of expertise. The typical teaching load for this position will be three courses per semester. Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education. In addition to the regular nine-month appointment, the successful candidate may have an opportunity to teach courses during the summer.
