Job Summary | The Department of Hispanic Studies (https://hs.as.uky.edu/) in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky invites applications for a non-tenure eligible Lecturer position to begin August 1, 2023. The selected candidate will be appointed to a 9-month faculty position for an initial two-year period that has the potential for renewal and for promotion to Senior Lecturer after five years. The position involves teaching three classes per semester. Courses will primarily range from the 100- to 300-levels in the basic Spanish language sequence and Spanish for specific purposes. The ideal candidate will have experience attracting new students to the major and familiarity with Spanish as a heritage language and will be engaged with our Latinx student community. We encourage candidates with training, teaching experience, knowledge of instructional technology, excellence in teaching, and administration of the undergraduate curriculum. A Ph.D. in Spanish, or allied field, is required.
