Job Summary | The Gatton College of Business and Economics invites applications for a lecturer position in business analytics with an expected start date of January 2021. We seek a colleague who is passionate about undergraduate and master’s level teaching and eager to help develop and deliver the business analytics programs in the college. The position will include in-person and online teaching and service expectations. Successful candidates will teach multiple business analytics courses potentially including introduction to business analytics, business intelligence and visualization, data management, data mining, data modeling and an undergraduate business analytics capstone. Other courses within the successful candidate’s expertise and meeting college needs may also be assigned. Candidates with a master’s degree in business, data analytics or a related field or substantial relevant professional experience will be considered. A terminal degree in data analytics or related field is preferred. Successful candidates will have a minimum of three years of relevant content experience; prior teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level, or in a non-academic setting, is strongly preferred. Experience with, or a commitment to learning JMP Pro, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel is a must. Additional software knowledge (e.g., Alteryx or RapidMiner) may be required, depending on specific courses taught. While the primary responsibility is teaching, the successful candidate may also oversee and coordinate a data analytics lab that supports students and faculty in the acquisition of analytic skills, provide technology instruction to Gatton faculty and PhD students, help administer the data analytics undergraduate minor, assist the Dean with analytics projects, and serve as the faculty advisor to the business data analytics club.
