As the LOA and Workers Compensation Administrator, you will be responsible for administration and coordination for company-wide absences including, but not limited to FMLA, Workers Compensation, and ADA activity, as well as Workers Compensation and related safety programs. Ensure applicable forms, tools, process and policies are current and appropriate based upon requirements and changes to Federal or State Laws. Educates employees and managers on processes and requirements for applicable processes or status. Maintains accurate records and reporting for all activity.

Essential duties:

Manage (80-100) employee active LOAs of varying types to include but not limited to: FMLA (full and intermittent), PDL, CFRA, OFLA, Workers Compensation, and unpaid leaves complexity and ensure they are being handled according to policy and procedures as well as in accordance with state & federal legislation.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the HR department for Leave of Absence, Workers Compensation and ADA processes, policies, procedures and applicable Federal and State laws.
Develop and facilitate leave of absence and accommodation training materials to business partners and team members via a variety of methods (WebEx, Face to Face, Teleconference, etc.)
Educate employees and managers on the LOA, Workers Compensation and/or ADA accommodation process and act as a primary contact to the employee.
May lead or play lead role in companys safety committee.
Responsible for leading the companys ergonomic program, and coordinating with line HR.
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and ensure management understanding the company's responsibilities during a person's absence or accommodation.
Collaborate and coordinate effectively with the HR Benefits Specialist to ensure appropriate action for employee benefits is taken based upon status.
Takes the lead in working with Field HR and management in providing guidance/solutions, and influencing outcomes in activity related to employee absence that fall within and outside of the existing leave programs. Provides guidance on decisions that impact employment, ensuring a consistent and fair approach and considers all aspects of employment related policies/procedures.
Assists in developing and monitoring best practices relating to leave administration and total absence management based upon procedures and policy provisions; and Federal and State legal requirements. Ensures uniformity and consistency of processes company-wide.
Workers compensation claims monitoring and administration, communication with carriers, legal advisors, case managers, managers, and employees.
Partners with vendor and Business partners in facilitating return to work activity.
Investigate issues appropriately to identify root causes.
Recommend approaches to take in response to issues.
Escalate issues to HR Manager/Director as appropriate.
Responsible for developing, tracking and managing all documentation, notifications, correspondence, administration details, files, etc. are completed, processed, and files retained applicable for activity type as required in accordance with company process, policy and applicable Federal and State laws.Ensure that appropriate and timely follow-up information is provided to employees in response to requests for information (e.g. - documents, forms).
Participate in departmental, management or vendor reviews of activity, issues, claims, litigation or other activity related to LOA, Workers Compensation, and ADA as appropriate and upon request by the HR Director.
Prepare reporting and help identify trends related to company leave, workers compensation and ADA activity.
Monitor, interpret, and provide recommendations based upon new and changing legislation.
Coordinate applicable adjustments to pay and benefits with the Companys Payroll department.
Track trends and provides metrics related to leave of absence activity on an aggregate and business unit level. Consider data to develop recommendations for total absence management solutions.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Possess ability to work in team environment where collaboration and the knowledge transfer process are critical for success.
Contribute to cross-functional HR initiatives as well as LOA specific initiatives.
Assist in diagnosing specific, systemic issues/ problems.
Participate in Absence management specific project initiatives as necessary.
Recommend policy and procedure changes.
Communicate ideas and process improvements regarding current LOA policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as required or requested.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency as HR systems user for tracking and administration of LOA, Workers Compensation and Safety activity.
Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Proficiency of LOA, ADA and Workers Compensation Laws (Federal and State) across multiple states including, but not limited to, California, Texas, Oregon and Florida.
Ability to communicate, collaborate, and influence effectively with vendors, Corporate HR, Line HR, employees, management, and cross functionally.

Physical Requirements:
Able to work in a fast paced environment for extended periods of time, 8-12 hours/day
Able to sit at desk, working on computer and phones for a minimum of 8-10 hours/day
Sit/stand/walk/reach/bend/stoop 8-12hr/day
Lift/carry/push/pull under and over 10lbs occasionally
Keying frequency, handling, reaching, fine manipulation
Able to sit at desk, working on computer and phones for a full work day, 8-12 hours/day
Able to work extended hours during critical project phases
Travel may be required to other office locations occasionally
Education and Experience:

Education equivalent to Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating a thorough understanding of leave of absence and workers compensation policy and procedures.
PHR and/or CEB preferred
Five or more years of progressive Human Resource experience, demonstrating the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and demonstrating general knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures.
Three or more years of Human Resources experience specifically in a leave and workers compensation management capacity, demonstrating sound knowledge of administration policies and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and State Leave Laws, and how they work together
