**Job Description Summary**

We are looking for a Lead System Designer to drive design responsibilities for new product development and installed based activities for high volume patient sensors and accessories (S&A) for medical devices used in critical care and anesthesia devices. Our Helsinki based cross-functional engineering team is part of global Clinical Accessories business. In this role you will have strong engagement maintaining and improving patient sensors and accessories, working with vendors, documentation and working with a cross functional team on small to mid-sized projects.

**Job Description**

Activities include product conception, system analysis, requirements development, traceability and flow down, FMEA, system integration, product optimization, developing/executing product Verification and Validation test procedures, and providing support to manufacturing and field issues.

+ Providing domain expertise to serve as the main integrator between all the involved disciplines and functions to deliver the best quality product.

+ Working across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement the next generation of products, features and functionalities.

+ Working with customers, Marketing and field personnel to refine requirements which can be further developed by the engineering teams.

+ Delivering and incorporating feedback results into existing and new products.

+ Use expertise to help resolve urgent issues with current patient sensors and accessories.

+ Leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.

+ Communicates across direct organization.

+ Connects the dots across technologies and develop cross-technology solutions; works on cross-functional projects/teams to deliver technology solutions for the business.


+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience

+ Demonstrated relevant work experience

+ Demonstrated ability to build lasting cross-functional relationships, including strong influential and communication skills.

+ Demonstrated understanding/experience with the New Product Introduction (NPI) cycle or Installed base.

+ Demonstrated experience in project leadership within a manufacturing, development or research environment, including previous experience working with a global and/or virtual team Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

**Desired Characteristics**

+ Masters degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Bio-mechanical or related degree)

+ Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance processes, design history files, and collateral's

+ Knowledge of GE Healthcare engineering tools and processes (Agile, MyWorkshop etc.)

+ Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues

+ Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying, facilitating and driving closure of product/program deliverables

+ Attention to detail and ability to work independently toward timely completion of a variety of assignments

+ Ability to develop unique solutions for complex challenges
