Lead Specialist Operational EHS - Services and Projects m/f/d

Role Summary:The EHS Site Lead will demonstrate leadership in communicating business EHS goals, programs, processes on P&S projects. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short term and some long-term project goals. You will be working on different projects in the EMEA region, which means that you can expect a lot of travelling. This is a 1-year limited contract

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Run own projects in EMEA as EHS Site lead

+ Perform Site Inspections and implement mitigation measures to increase EHS level

+ Create and run training sessions for new site personnel

+ Create and grow safety culture at assigned project

+ Maintain an in-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements

+ Work with consultants and contractors on related EHS issues

+ Provide and determine alternatives for issue resolution

+ Modify and implement compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems

+ Conduct and ensure effective EHS education programs are in place

+ Develop and work focused on EHS program development, implementation and improvement to ensure company compliance and customer expectations

+ Measure progress toward successfully meeting corporate expectations

+ Participate in EHS issues resolution & able to react dynamically

+ The EHS Site Lead will work 100% on projects sites in EMEA

+ Travel up to 100% with rotations


+ Bachelors degree from an accredited university, or equivalent knowledge or experience

In EHS (Nebosh International, SiFa, MVK, High Level Recurso Preventivo or equivalent)

+ EHS experience applicable to operations, maintenance and/or construction of power generation and related facilities, preferably wind

+ Proven experience in EHS areas in the field environment

+ Great knowledge in local EHS legislation

+ Medical fitness and able to work at height

+ Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 100%

+ Fluency in English

+ Excellent oral and written communication and presentation

+ Strong Leadership skills

+ Strong oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills

+ Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside GE (regulatory agencies)

Desired Characteristics:

+ Ability to solve problems under time pressure and rigorous quality and process focus

+ Have a high energy level and the ability to energize others

+ Previous experience in working in cross-functional and global team environments

+ German or Spanish knowledge would be a plus
