JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC is looking for experienced candidates to provide Software System Engineering expertise to support the U.S. Air Force in the development of new methodologies and approaches for rapidly creating and delivering enhanced C4ISR capabilities. Responsible for leading and managing the successful delivery of Enterprise Architecture ( EA) support of a large DOD program that includes Enterprise Engineering services in developing complex architectures for command and control applications (multiple data feeds, sophisticated processing). Responsibilities for delivering support services that supply specific engineered solutions and pertinent planning documentation on all aspects of the customer's IT Infrastructure Architecture. This includes architectural design, proof of concept (POC) development, pilots, analysis, results and documentation; supporting the design and management of all aspects of the testing and development of technology and testing the infrastructure impact of all technology, services, products, and designs prior to acceptance into the customer's production environment.

This leading edge opportunity will pave the way for future Multi-domain command and control (MDC2) including command and control of air, cyber and space domains leveraging significant user environment frequent experimentation in live and virtual environments and the opportunity for rapid fielding of new capabilities.

Responsibilities:

The Lead Software Engineer will lead the effort to create enhanced Multi-domain Command and Control applications for deployment in the Air Operations Center. They will serve as the product owner for new applications as well as for enhancements to existing applications. In this role, the Lead Software Engineer will work with Subject Matter Experts and a broad range of Stakeholders to identify, refine, and prioritize items in the master produce backlog. The Lead Software Engineer will also develop estimates for implementing the items in the backlog.

The Lead Software Engineer will provide technical leadership for software engineers using Agile extreme programming methods to develop enhanced applications. They are the primary interface to management and perform constant communication to obtain customer concurrence on priorities for resolving the backlog of new features, the allocation of issues to individual scrums, and the definition of scrum success.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

-
Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience and 18 years experience in lieu of a Bachelor degree

Experience with VMware visualization

-
Experience with AWS and VMC (VMware Cloud on AWS)

-
Experience/knowledge of USAF AOC applications

-
Experience with security, especially knowledge of the RMF process

-
Experience with Pivotal PCF

-
Experience with DevOps, especially Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)

-
Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management.

Successful management, supervision of employees of various labor categories with large technical programs

-
Working knowledge, experience administering, and managing multiple, concurrent IT programs, projects and tasks.

-
Ability to organize architecture teams in a collaborative environment that support proactive identification and delivery of architectural solutions that address the current and to be state.

At least 14 years of experience leading and managing IT infrastructure Architecture programs and/or projects, including mission critical programs, IT systems design and development.

At least 5 years of proven experience in federal government IT infrastructure program/project management.

-
At least 3 years of experience interfacing and presenting to C-level executives.

Demonstrable experience providing engineered IT solutions large Federal government programs in support of the customer's mission

Knowledge of FAR regulations and requirements
