**Job Description Summary**

Preparation of proposals/bids, contract negotiation and compliance with contract commitments and commercial risk assessment. The Lead Commercial Proposals Manager will be responsible for the Power Conversion Marine solution portfolio in terms of developing commercial proposals and managing commercial risk.

**Roles and Responsibilities**



+ Develop proposals; negotiate with customers; ensure deals deliver shareholder value; drive competitive pricing. Includes compiling and submitting required tender documentation.

+ Work with sales, application engineering and segment teams to develop accurate commercial proposals and cost estimates for system and services solutions across the Power Conversion portfolio

+ Develop solutions offering in key areas across the Power Conversion Marine Segment; including solutions for our Government, Merchant and Offshore sectors

+ Support the GE commercial risk process & all aspects of the Inquiry to Order process

+ Work with 3rd party partners to enhance growth opportunities and leverage win-win technology partnerships

+ Support customer meetings with technical product differentiation and key contractual risk areas

+ Work to optimize technical solutions, enhance margins

+ An individual contributor, with proven interpersonal skills. Communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered. Provides informal guidance to new team members. Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations.



**Required Qualifications**



+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), Business Degree, or related discipline

+ Minimum 5 years of experience in work commercial proposal

+ Must be a US citizen. Due to the nature of the work being performed this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship



**Desired Characteristics**



+ Direct experience with commercial offering on large complex systems in the Marine segment

+ Strong track record of working with cross-functional teams

+ Strong technical knowledge of electrical solutions, including automation, low & medium-voltage motors, and variable speed drives.

+ Well-rounded business acumen commercial, technical and program execution skills

+ Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
