**Job Description Summary**

Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, the Lead Project Engineer is responsible for taking a lead role in project managing the engineering aspects of GEs Wind Farm projects. The core function of the Lead Project Engineer is to coordinate with internal and external design teams, construction contractors and stakeholders to ensure that the wind turbine and the balance of plant works are designed, constructed and commissioned to a high standard and within the scope of the contract.



**Job Description**



**Essential Responsibilities:**



+ Technical interface with Commercial Operations, Requisition Engineering (for Manufacturing, Engineering, Compliance/Certification, Supply Chain), and Project Management teams for the Order-to-Remittance (OTR) process for Wind Farms.

+ Technical input for the preparation of tenders and offers in line with customers technical and administrative requirements furnished in tender.

+ Ensure that the Wind Farm engineering deliverables are implemented from the initial definition of customers requirements, planning the works through to the final handover to the client.

+ Interpret contractual specifications to produce technical specifications. Ensure turbine and the balance of plant works scope are defined and delivered in a timely manner.

+ Providing technical support to Engineering, Sourcing, Vendors and Installation teams to ensure equipment meets customers, contractual, regulatory requirements and business objectives.

+ Coordinate with subcontractors, customers, owners Engineer and internal stakeholders on technical matters, documentation, design review, RFI and Turbine & BoP technical specifications reviews. Organize construction certificate, building permit and site retrofits.

+ Collaborate with other Renewables functions to determine root cause and define both corrective and preventive actions for turbine or fleet issues with time bound manner. Prepare technical letters, Enable Red Flag Review (RFR), manage product quality issues and minimize COQ.

+ Provide feedback to GEs proposal group and other services throughout the project using the lessons learned process.

+ Participate in the risk assessment of technical aspects of the project and the development and application of appropriate risk mitigation measures.

+ Attend the site visits, collect required information and data, and then prepare site visit report.

+ Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.

+ Conducting frequent reviews with internal and external stakeholders on technical and commercial change orders (ICO/ECO) during construction phase. Enable effective implementation of digital tools and process.

+ Manage engineering budget, monitor EAC (Estimate After Completion) and make relevant corrective actions.

+ Participate in project handover process to the customers, services team upon completion (COD).



**Qualifications/Requirements:**



+ Tertiary qualification in a Mechanical, Electrical engineering discipline.

+ Interpretation and application of the Regulatory framework as they apply to the GE technology and prospective GE power plant projects.

+ Previous wind industry experience.

+ Ability to understand and manage complex technical issues.

+ Understanding of project management and engineering processes.

+ Proficient in a range of general computer packages (e.g Word processing, excel, AutoCAD, etc).

+ Proven ability to prepare high quality reports suitable for senior management and external stakeholders.

+ Well-founded communication skills oral and written in English.

+ Understanding of foreign cultures and empathy.

+ Flexible attitude to tasks and an open mind for new challenges.

+ Ability to manage a range of tasks with varying time pressures.

+ Highly developed inter-personal and organizational skills.

+ Ability to prioritize demanding workloads and pay attention to detail.



**Desired Characteristics:**
