Role Summary:The Lead Engineer is a function in the project engineering team who manages and leads the team associated to the engineering disciplines scope of work (including subcontracted engineering services), ensuring the GE product integration (GT, ST, Generator, HRSG) into the plant considering external interfaces (Customer and TKP-Partners); provides, in collaboration with the project team, inputs to technical problems and opportunities that may affect the project, and takes related decisions.

Essential Responsibilities:Tasks & Responsibilities:

Responsible for technical project management, technical direction, and coordination of related engineering activities, ensuring deliverables on time, on quality and on budget and compliant with GE rules, Customer contract requirements and EHS standards allowing safe construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance

Provides clear communication to his/ her project team and peers, and the project as well as the line leadership team

Responsible for the implementation of the project strategy, manages engineering budget, monitors costs, drives productivity and communicates EACs (estimates at completion)

Requests required resources in line with project demand (follow-up, forecast)

Leads technical issue resolution to the satisfaction of internal and external Customers

Manages the technical hand-over for his/her assigned scope from Inquiry To Order (ITO) to Order To Remittance (OTR) team

Reviews, analyses and leads the disciplines engineering team in respect of contractual requirements (Customer specifications, codes, and standards for the design)

Reaches agreement on the scope of supply, division of work, engineering related items of Consortium Agreement, engineering budget and deliverables

Applies the procurement strategy (Engineering Procurement Plan) related to the scope

Reviews and comments the project specific system time schedule to ensure its suitability, by considering interfaces to other disciplines and the integration of the products

Ensures follow up and timely response on technical issues and agreements, internally and externally

Provides input to the technical risk reviews, supports mitigation and resolution of technical risks

Ensures application of the design control process, and drives the design freeze, the follow up and closing of actions

Reviews purchase orders for engineering services in the related scope

Participates to important negotiations related to purchasing of equipment and/or services

Monitors the progress of design activities and takes preventative action to deliver on-time accurate solutions, including suppliers and engineering service providers

Expedites and supports technical aspects of variation orders

Supports project claim negotiations and prepare the relevant documentation and facts

Drives close out of assigned engineering related punch items, and preparation of As Built documentation

Supports and give input to "lessons learnt" meetings to ITO

Provides input to experience response system (ERS)

Qualifications/Requirements:To be successful in this role you would possess and/or demonstrate the following:

Degree in Mechanical and/or Chemical engineering from a local or internationally recognised university

At least 8 years of relevant experience in the field of engineering (in power plant or alternatively oil & gas, chemical industries), of which 3-5 years of relevant experience in project management would be advantageous

Previous experience in Site Commissioning or specialization in power plant or similar large scale industrial facilities would be advantageous

Functional Knowledge essential to the success of this role is as follows:

Demonstrate and apply design methods, rules and tools to specify the systems /components,

Power plant process knowledge,

Knowledge of Interfaces and main power plant equipment (GT, ST, HRSG, Condenser)

Good skills in the use of computer applications and computer tools,

Good knowledge of engineering, design and project management tools and methods,

Good knowledge on controls systems

Good knowledge about safety in design (such as Functional safety)

Ability to foresee situations and adapt accordingly
