Lead Engineer - Systems Engineering

Role Summary:The Lead Engineer - Systems Engineer will work with the Advanced Combat Engine program, which is intended to mature technologies for advanced military engines envisioned to power future combat aircraft. These programs will design, develop, and perform testing to demonstrate and mature key technologies to product ready levels.

Essential Responsibilities:





+ Focal point for test planning and execution on a particular engine build





+ Lead and perform trade studies to assess test options





+ Provide options to solve performance issues encountered





+ Preparation of presentations in support of the program





+ Present in technical program reviews





+ Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures





+ Support test planning and coverage





+ Lead analysis of test data using NPSS data reduction models





+ Establish and grow working relationships with internal and/or external interfaces







Qualifications/Requirements:



+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college





+ A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering position









ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):







+ This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment





+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance













Desired Characteristics:



+ Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college





+ Experience with engine testing both SLS and altitude facilities





+ Experience with system level thermodynamic modeling and/or data analysis activities





+ Working knowledge of NPSS





+ Working knowledge of data plotting tools





+ Working knowledge of thermodynamics and aerodynamics





+ Strong oral and written communication skills
