**Job Description Summary**

Reporting directly to the LATAM Grid Automation Tendering Leader, the Grid Automations Tendering Engineer is a key member of the ITO team. The Tendering Engineer has advanced technical expertise in power systems design, knowledge of our grid automation products and solutions, with special focus for substation automation, protection & control, and has a leadership role on costing/pricing strategies and tools.



Merging both technical and costing/pricing skills, the Tendering Engineer shall be able to provide customers the best technical and commercial offers of our more advanced applications, services and solutions. The tendering Engineer plays an important role on the ITO phase, engaging with internal and external stakeholders in co-creation dialogue, building our services and solutions offers, and act as the focal point to build best-in-class technical and commercial proposals.



**Job Description**



**Roles and Responsibilities**



+ Lead all tendering (bidding) steps for Protection, Control, Automation & Measurement solutions/projects including: RFQ analysis, issuing of technical/commercial offers, handover to Operations.

+ Define with application and sales teams support the most cost-effective or valued services and solutions for the customer.

+ Align strategic support from the business for negotiation with suppliers, partners and main stakeholders during ITO phase.

+ Perform cost reduction analysis based on best technical application of GEs Grid Automation extensive family of products and services.

+ Support Bid Managers/Sales in pre-sales requirements.

+ Apply rigorously the commercial processes to assure process compliance and content.

+ Drive the review of the risk elements presented by the technical offers and provide mitigation with the other support areas on deal strategy, delivery time, equipment availability, new product introductions, costing, performance, and other identified risks.

+ Survey and recognize market need in terms of technical solution.

+ Provide both external and internal timely, accurate, professional reports.

+ Coverage: Brazil and other Latin American countries



**Required Qualifications**



+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automation & Control or similar Engineering from an accredited college or university.

+ Minimum 5 years of experience in power system protection and control area

+ Technical, pricing and commercial experience within power system protection and control

+ Proficiency level in Portuguese and English. Spanish is also valued.

+ Must be a motivator, self-starter and dedicated team player with a sense of urgency and an ability to work to tight deadlines.

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus and ability to cooperate with the different stakeholders.

+ High interpersonal skills.

+ Work efficiently without direct supervision.

+ Ability to organize, prioritize and achieve milestones and deliverables.

+ High energy, positive individual loving operational challenges.

+ Desire to work outside of boundaries and drive change.

+ Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.



**Desired Characteristics**



+ Deep knowledge of Transmission, Distribution and Generation markets

+ Experience on services tendering, including estimation of required time and resources for offerings such as: factory and field testing, commissioning, installation, protection and control studies, training, systems and products upgrades, etc.

+ Knowledge in products and advanced solutions and technologies, such as: Protection Relays, Controls for LV, MV and HV Substations, Networking (Switches, firewalls), TimeSynch Protocols and devices (IEEE1588, NTP, IRIG-B), Industry Standards (i.e. IEC61850), Disturbance Fault Recorders, Digital Substation Concept (Process & Station Bus), Fast Load Shedding, Fault Location and Wide Area Monitoring and Protection Schemes.

+ Ability and willingness to travel when necessary (customer meetings, substations visits, site survey, training, others).
