Lead Engineer - Control System

Role Summary:The Control system engineer will be the main point of contact for all technical problem resolutions for customers GE P&W equipment.

Resident Engineer will assist the CPM, GE Engineering and Field Services staff to meet technical requirements of the covered sites and customer satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities:Provide counsel and advice on the GE supplied equipment operations in accordance with guidelines and specifications, operating symptoms and history.

Coordinate the technical communications between Customer and GE Engineering.

Assist the customer in the proper use of GE technical documentations provided with the equipment.

Assist in development of specific preventive maintenance check lists for the customer sites operating and maintenance personnel to record unit data.

Troubleshooting of control problems on gas turbines

Respond to customer technical inquires for operation of plant

Provide counsel and advice on troubleshooting and scheduled maintenance procedures to maintain equipment as required and consistent with manufacturer's recommendations.

Provide counsel and advice regarding the establishment of an adequate inventory of materials, equipment and spare parts for maintaining optimum operation of the GE supplied units.

Provide advice and counsel regarding changes, modifications, and upgrades for maintaining optimum operation of the GE supplied equipment.

Provide advice for scheduling routine maintenance, advice the sequence of scheduled and additional inspection activities.

Be on site during emergency situations (forced outages) for quick response time and necessary resources to restore the site unit to operating conditions in a timely manner.

Assistant CPM for the profitability and customer satisfaction of assigned contract

Support in data collections & analysis of unit operations, generating unit operations report,

Be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives .

*Review on an ongoing basis the information provided by costumer, such as the Operation and Maintenance Manuals provided by the manufacturer(s) of the

Relevant Units Power Plants, the list of and requirements for Parts, (general and specific) tooling as well as storage requirements and provide STEG with

feedback and recommendations, insofar as EG consider that they have an impact on the operation and maintenance of the Power Plant(s),

*Review the list of special tooling required for the Plants planned inspections and produce recommendations to STEG in respect of the final statement of

requirements for special tooling and processing machines

*Help the costumer in developing initial plans for the performance of services and initiate necessary discussions with potential suppliers,

*Assist the costumer to review the implemented maintenance program, using costumers Computerized Maintenance Management System

*Assist the CPM to develop and execute the training program

*Assist the CPM to plan and execute outages , including closeout oversight, event parts, and repairs planning

Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor Degree in Control / Electrical Engineering

In-depth technical knowledge of Gas Turbine power plant operations and maintenances in particular 9Emachines

Applicable leadership skills required for working in a dynamic, energetic and complex environment.

Familiarity with e-tools and service applications

Costumer oriented skills :Adaptability ,Persuasive Speaking Skills and Patience

Experience in the power industry or with 5+ years working experience in 9E gas turbines .

Able to work independently and without supervision

Experience in planning and executing outages

Familiarity with Contractual Service Agreements

Strong leadership, financial and commercial skills

Knowledge in 9E

Familiarity with Contractual Service Agreements

*Experience with Gas Turbine Driver Control Systems and Auxiliary Systems

*Experience on Mark V, Mark VI, Mark VIe controls systems, highly preferable

*Ability to understand and implement controls software

Desired Characteristics:Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with colleagues and customers

Strong ownership and customer service focus with the ability to empathize as well as prioritize customer needs.

Lean mindset and strong quality background ( Six sigma training is preferable )

Understand , believe in , and live GEs way in no time

Ability to work efficiently with less direct supervision.

Willingness to work continuously at site and travel in the country or sometime to oversea

Fluent in English and French
