Position Summary:

Position will be responsible for building all inter-related launch workstreams, interdependencies, timelines, and commercial launch meetings. This leader will help organize ACADIAs cross-functional team, plan the commercial leadership meetings, agendas, key action items, and ensure seamless execution of the launch plan. Position works with all related departments to assure alignment of activities, timelines, resource requirements, solving problems and removing bottlenecks. Position is intimately familiar with the disease state, clinical, market preparation plans, commercial strategy, forecast, operational launch plan, and field force sizing & structure.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, inspire and drive the cross-functional launch team, pulling together the interdependent, sequential launch preparation activities, working with the business leaders of each department to ensure appropriate resourcing, timelines and execution.
  • Creates a clear sense of purpose and shared fate for all involved in this critical indication launch for ACADIA.
  • Works with all team members to ensure full understanding of the strategy and tactical plan, asking questions of all partners to make sure there are no disagreements or misunderstandings on priorities.
  • Build the operational launch plan with buy-in and commitment from all interdependent partners to consistently execute the program and update, based on necessary course adjustments along the way.
  • Collaborates with the NUPLAZID Brand Leader and Marketing Operations Leader to prepare all meetings, agendas, presentations for the Commercial Leadership Team (CLT), Executive Management Committee (EMC), Portfolio Steering Committee (PSC) and ACADIAs Board of Directors, related to the execution of the launch readiness operational plan.
  • Work closely with each of the partners leading the launch across the organization to ensure clear and open communication and shared commitment to both seamless execution and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Anticipates and acts on potential issues before them materialize into problems and intervenes to alert key stakeholders.
  • Quickly bring to light any bottlenecks or potential program elements at risk that will require either better resourcing, staffing, or timeline adjustments. Ensure no avoidable delays to the final overall execution plan occur.
  • Leads without direct authority to ensure timelines are met within not only commercial, but with cross-functional partners as well.
  • Understands and can help shape the Medical, Legal and Regulatory review process to help prioritize key projects and create a shared understanding for why certain program elements are critical.
  • Understands and leads the process of making trade-offs that will keep the launch program on track without compromising the strategic intent of the overall plan.
  • Builds a collaborative, team-focused, positive work environment for the commercial launch team, ensuring all parties understand their important contributions to the plan and celebrating the successes of the team and individuals along the way.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelors degree in marketing, commercial operations or related discipline; masters degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in pharma/biotech marketing and/or with leadership experience. Participation in previous product launches and experience with building, leading and executing product launch plans highly preferred. Position requires the ability to deliver clear direction and feedback to keep plans on target and on time. Facility with project planning software and interdependency modeling a must.

  • Broad range of experiences across multiple commercial functions, including: marketing, sales, sales leadership, sales training, market research and analysis.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute to solve problems and advance projects in a timely manner.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership skills
  • High sense of urgency coupled with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse set of partners.
  • Outstanding organizational and planning skills.
  • Facility with project planning software and related technologies.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in oral, written and presentation platforms.
  • Proven resilience in the face of setbacks, adversity and necessary program adjustments.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and presentation skills
  • Strong business planning, budgeting acumen and judgment
  • Ability to uncover insights and summarize results in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work effectively across functions as a team player
  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects
  • Demonstrable track record in leading projects from concept through execution
  • Excellent diplomacy and facilitation skills

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
