Job Summary
The Department of Entomology at the University of Kentucky is seeking a Laboratory Technician Senior to assist with research on arthropod ecology, management, and conservation.

The lab technician will be responsible for helping design and carry out projects that evaluate effects of local management practices and landscape-scale predictors on arthropod biodiversity and ecosystem services. Projects will focus on natural enemies of crop/livestock pests as well as on pollinators and decomposers.

The technician will also serve as the de facto lab manager and be responsible for inventory management, ordering supplies, and working with principal investigator to ensure the lab is compliant with University and Federal regulations.

The successful applicant will be encouraged to work towards an advanced degree in Entomology while serving in this position (tuition waiver included). All questions about this position should be directed to Nate Haan, Assistant Professor, Department of Entomology. nate.haan@uky.edu

Knowledge of insect predators; insect rearing techniques; statistical and graphing programs.
