Physical Requirements
Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Sitting/standing for extended periods of time as well as extended periods of repetitive motion and general laboratory duties required as part of this position.
Shift
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Monday – Friday (40 hrs/wk).
Job Summary
The College of Agriculture, Food and Environment Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (UKVDL) seeks a Senior Laboratory Technician/Float. The duties for this position in the Molecular Section of the UKVDL include process specimens; run diagnostic assays; evaluate results; keep proper records and report results; database management; bioinformatics; and assist in the training of other employees as needed. Duties also include assisting as a float in a variety of laboratory areas/functions. The position includes exceptional benefits as a part of the University of Kentucky and is located at the Coldstream Research Campus off Newtown Pike (greatlocation and free parking). MS Office including Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, and specialty bioinformatics software.

Bachelor of Science plus two or more years related experience preferred.
