Job Summary

As a lab technician, your primary job will be to support animal colony management. You will also support research activities in the lab by (1) Preparing and maintaining various buffers, solutions, and reagents. (2) assist PI by performing supervised research in the area of genome biology and brain physiology. Research techniques examples include western blot analysis, mammalian cell culture, and microscopic analysis, among others. (3) Maintain and manage mouse colony, including setting up the breeding and performing genotyping. A motivated lab technician will have the opportunity to expand their scientific and technical repertoire further to advance their career options further. (2) Administration: Lab technician will assist the investigator in placing orders, interact with departmental administrators, manage lab inventory, supplies, and resources, and day-to-day lab operation. We are a well-funded research lab with multi-disciplinary research projects.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Experience working with mouse colony is highly desirable. Working knowledge of the routine lab procedures – making chemical stock solutions, PCR, gel electrophoresis would be a plus.
