Client Development Manager, Key Accounts - Agribusiness Intelligence |  New York, NY


The Client Development Manager, Key Accounts role is the commercial lead within Agribusiness Intelligence, owning our most strategic client relationships and responsible for developing and managing meaningful, revenue-generating relationships with key decision makers across each client’s entire business.  The mandate for the position is to fully understand your customers’ strategy, workflow, needs, and goals, and use that information coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the value of the entire Agribusiness Intelligence portfolio to create solutions for clients.



Key Responsibilities



  • For your assigned accounts, learn and understand the goals and drivers of the client’s business
  • Understand your accounts' organizational structures, business strategies and where you can unlock growth
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with strategic key business leaders
  • Coordinate the involvement of internal team members, including content, customer success, product management and senior management resources, in order to meet client revenue growth performance objectives and customers’ expectations
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and successfully achieve strategic objectives
  • Pro-actively leads the strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones
  • Pro-actively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs
  • Expected to spend at least 50% of time in the field



Required Skills:



  • Minimum 5 years' sales experience
  • Knowledge of sales and negotiation processes
  • Has a good working knowledge of account planning methodology and tools
  • Accomplished sales professional able to demonstrate how you have grown key account revenues
  • Able to demonstrate enthusiasm to understand the global agribusiness sector
  • Highly competitive and results-driven
  • Able to articulate complex solutions in a simple and coherent manner
  • Equipped with powerful verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work as part of an account team, leveraging skills and talents within Agribusiness Intelligence to deliver against the account plan
  • Outgoing, confident and engaging
  • Capable, and comfortable, in challenging the status quo
  • Self-critical and capable of handling rejection
