SAIC is currently searching for a Junior Engineer who will provide U.S. Navy Combat Systems engineering and technical support and subject matter expertise to Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) in support of MARMC’s Surface SONAR and Torpedo Defense Branch. The successful applicant will contribute to a Team of experienced subject matter experts providing technical support, system testing, inspection, repair, replacement and assessment assistance on Surface Sonar Systems/equipment (all mods), peripherals and interfaces. These systems will include AN/SQS- 53(B/C/D) Hull Mounted Sonars and auxiliary systems and subsystems including Towed Arrays Systems, Sonobuoy Receiving Systems, On-Board Training Systems (OBT) and In-Situ measurement systems such as Wet Dome Phase Test Equipment and In-Water Collection Boxes.

Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of six month’s experience.

- Recent and current experience in the following technical support areas: Experience with troubleshooting, repair, logistic support of shipboard SONAR and associated equipment, including; AN/SQS-53(B/C/D), sonars and their subsystems, which include transducers and stave cables and as well as support for AN/SQR-19 Towed Array System, AN/SQQ-28 Sonobouy Receiving System, and AN/SQQ-89 OBT. (Required)

- Using computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and programmatic files. (Required)

- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. (Required)

- Significant experience in creating technical documentation, visual aids, and other programmatic material. (Required)

- Knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs typically used in engineering and related disciplines.

- Must have good communication skills to interface with numerous engineering and trade level personnel and work with minimal supervision.

- Any experience outlined in above gained at Norfolk Ship Support Activity (NSSA) or Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) will make a candidate more competitive. (Required)

Required Certifications: Current or ability to obtain a First Aid/CPR certification from a recognized national institution.

Required Clearance: An active DOD SECRET clearance
Travel: Up to 10% (Required)
