The virtual Western Union HQ internship program provides current college and graduate students the opportunity to experience our culture of service while challenging themselves through a structured blend of individual project work, deep-dive sessions, networking opportunities, and enriching group projects. Our paid, 12-week summer session will run from June 6th August 26th, 2022, which tentatively includes a sponsored trip to our Denver headquarters the week of July 25th.

This is a rare opportunity for someone with no previous office experience to learn, create and gain valuable experience working in the Technology Office. Western Union has an objective in 2022 to increase the amount of capitalized labor by an additional $15M by tapping into the BAU work of our Agile Development teams across our Digital, Payments, Retail, Compliance, Risk, Core, and Partnership platforms. In this role you will work with leaders to bring visibility to timekeeping adherence, analytics on the time being reported, drive process improvements based on the analysis. in understanding depreciation, financial analysis, business process.

While you may or may not have professional work experience, we are looking for you to bring the following general skills to the table:

  • Energetic, with a passion
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Analytics, Software Development, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Ability to think logically and structurally and have attention to detail is required
  • Strong analytical skills and strong communication skills, both written (with emphasis on technical documentation) and verbal are required
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in high performing and self-governing teams
  • Knowledge of coding, forecasting, financial analysis and planning.

You will gain experience in different areas. In addition, you will be involved with:

  • Root cause failure and understanding the why.
  • Technology management
  • Working in an Agile environment
  • Resource tracking, forecasting, financial planning, and process improvement
  • Communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders
