Japan Customs Leader

Role Summary:As the Japan customs leader you will be responsible for import/export program support.

Essential Responsibilities:o Work with Global Customs CoE and key business stakeholders to create Japan Customs strategy

o Manage and control the Companys Japan Customs Compliance and Duty Management programs including (but not limited to) import/export operations, HS classification, bonded warehouse operations, Ex-tariff, AEO, Free Trade Agreements, Valuation, and other programs

o Maintain and publish operational metrics relevant to Japan Customs

o Identify and champion continuous improvement projects and ensure corrective actions are implemented, when necessary

o Act as main point of contact in the event of an external audit and manage relationship with Japan Customs

o Coordinate initiatives with Tax, Legal, Logistics, IT, Global Security, Warehouse, Plant and Finance teams to provide strategic input into supply chain decisions

o Monitor regulatory and legislative changes within the Healthcare industry to ensure the Company is providing up-to-date information to key stakeholders and conforming operational practices to take changes into consideration

o Support local business Customs related escalations and initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements:o Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college or

o High school diploma/GED with at least 3 years of experience in Customs processes

o Ability to communicate (verbal, written) in English and Portuguese

Desired Characteristics:o Experience with tariff classification, free trade agreements, country of origin determination, trusted trader programs, bonded facilities, management of Customs brokers and 3rd party compliance providers, special Customs programs valuation, transfer pricing, recordkeeping requirements, auditing, procedure testing, trade management systems

o Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment

o Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within the organization

o Proven ability to execute, multi-task, and deliver on commitments

o Experience working in the Healthcare industry

o Global trade management systems experience

o Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified

o Oracle order management experience
