SmithBucklin, a 100 percent employee-owned association management company, is looking for a Manager, Internal Communications to join the Corporate Marketing team in our Chicago office. We are seeking an experienced and creative manager who will work closely with senior leadership and the Chief People Officer to create and implement a strategic, multi-faceted internal communications program to build and strengthen our companys brand and connection to employees. The ideal candidate is charged with successfully building relationships and collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and responsibilities to deliver key organizational news. A crucial part of this role, as a brand ambassador is to ensure all communications are consistent with our brand identity and in alignment with our mission and values.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement strategic internal communications to support our mission, values and brand identity working in partnership with key leaders
  • Build and foster collaborative relationships with HR, key committees and business & service units to provide communications support for change management, culture-building and continuous improvement
  • Provide internal communications expertise, advising a broad range of internal constituents on the most effective and efficient methods of achieving their communications goals
  • Oversee the design and development of all internal communications materials and programs, including but not limited to: the company Intranet, internal news announcements, mass email announcements from company leaders, internal letters, presentations and videos
  • Leverage internal resources to ensure timely delivery of internal communications materials and campaigns in the most effective manner
  • Evaluate results of internal communications initiatives to identify additional opportunities and/or determine deficiencies in order to continuously improve the performance of all communications initiatives and, ultimately, institutionalize best practices

  • You have knowledge of the HR function and change management communication

Education & Experience Qualifications:

  • Must have BS/BA in marketing, communications, integrated communications or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a marketing leadership role
  • 5+ years of working on a team in internal communications, marketing communications, or a related discipline with a focus on both promotion of business vision/strategy, employee engagement and development of team members
  • Proven competence with software platforms
