Job Summary

The University of Kentucky is seeking an Implementation Director for the for the NIH HEALing Communities grant. This is a four-year grant, currently in Year 2, that seeks to decrease opioid overdose deaths by 40 percent in 16 counties.

The Implementation Director will play a critical supervisory role in expanding evidence-based interventions by directing staff in leveraging local change teams in diverse organizations within each of the 16 participating communities. Change teams will be comprised of leaders and staff from organizations such as syringe services programs, jails, probation/parole offices, and/or treatment centers providing medication for opioid use disorder. This is a unique opportunity to be at the leadership level of a major initiative positioned to bring together talented and dedicated individuals from the university community, Kentucky state government, treatment providers, the criminal justice system, and public health departments to address one of the nation’s biggest public health crises. The Implementation Director will be key to expanding the use of evidence-based interventions within partnering organizations. The Implementation Director will manage overall work of the Implementation Facilitators working with local change teams to develop implementation blueprints and then facilitating change team meetings that are focused on how their services and/or resources can be expanded to serve more people.

Other responsibilities for this role will include: Building a network of community partners and local change teams across all 8 communities. Leading meetings, trainings, and dialog both in-person and via video conference to community partners and local change teams. Sharing and promoting best practices and knowledge between local community partners, local change teams and researchers. Serving as the liaison between study leadership, health research, clinical practice and community health initiatives while educating others about the purpose and value of the HEALing Communities research partnership. Manages data collection, interpretation, and communication with study leadership.

Preferred Education/Experience

Experience in managing large-scale research projects with human subjects, change management, and extensive supervisory skills. Graduate degree in related field desirable.
