Human Resources and Union Relations Manager- GE Aviation, KS

Role Summary:

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for People Leaders and employees to provide counsel, coaching and support on HR fundamentals and employee related questions. Execute our key HR initiatives, providing available and responsive internal employee support, and drive HR functional excellence and process improvement. Provide HR client support for hourly, unionized employees in our Strother Airfield facility outside of Wichita, KS.

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to front line leaders and employees within a complex business environment, with specific focus on:

+ Employee advocacy/engagement

+ HR fundamentals and process training

+ Employee relations management

+ Performance management

+ Career development

+ Talent assessment, acquisition and retention

+ Workplace investigations as appropriate

+ Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices at 100% compliance to promote an ethical and compliant work environment

+ Assist with payroll and HR operations

+ Provide strategic thought leadership on employee develop and organizational design

+ Provide day-to-day Union Relations support including the negotiation of all collective bargaining agreements and dispute resolution at the terminal step of the grievance procedure

+ Represent the company at all legal proceedings as it pertains to Union Relations and represent the company in Union Relations matters

+ Provide advice and counsel to management and HR on contract language interpretation and other Union policies, practices, and procedures

+ Assist other functional support groups such as Compensation, Employment, Benefits, etc. in matters pertaining to union represented employees

+ Establish and promote a cooperative and collaborative work environment through the personal exercise of positive climate setting strategies and practices


+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor Relations and/or 3 years experience in Human Resources with strong exposure to Labor Relations / Union Relations

+ Knowledge of labor law and human resource practices

+ Contract negotiations experience preferred
