Role Summary:Leads and sets priorities for execution of Lean initiatives across the Gas Power Materials Group. Responsible for working with the GSC Materials Leader, Gas Power Lean Leader, and the respective site leads, to establish a customer based process improvement strategy, which drives customer responsiveness, lead time reduction and quality improvement in line with business/functional objectives.



Essential Responsibilities:As the GSC Materials Lean Leader you will:





+ Shape the Materials team vision, in accordance with the business lean strategy, and translate the vision into goals, objectives and strategies resulting in cross-functional cultural change which delivers consistent, year-over-year results across all sites that are a part of the Value Stream



+ Use Lean to drive the GSC inventory reduction target



+ Work with senior leaders to assess current baselines and determine the framework processes to be improved using the Lean methodologies.



+ Reduce lead time by creating pull between GE and their suppliers and within GE supply chains.



+ Implement Heijunka scheduling and authorization to produce.



+ Creat material analysis processes for the team to follow to evaluate opportunities to better manage on hand quantities based on LT and frequency of delivery.



+ Provide leadership and direction to Site Materials Leaders to scope and analyze Lean opportunities across the factories.



+ Support simplification of the complex processes and manage cross-functional relationships to support business impact.



+ Provide key output data, metrics and presentations for reporting, operations reviews and business communications



+ Share best practices and act as a conduit to accelerate cross business progress





Qualifications/Requirements:



+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college and 10 years experience in supply chain and manufacturing operations with proven track record of results using Lean methodologies OR High school diploma/GED and 20 years of experience in supply chain and manufacturing operations with proven track record of results using Lean methodologies or equivalent experience

+ Demonstrated ability to influence and drive cross functional cultural change.



+ Executive level presentation skills Strong oral and written communication skills



+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills



+ This job will require travel >75% , may vary depending on location



+ Additional cross-functional leadership experience in the areas of finance, engineering, and/or quality is preferred.



+ Masters degree in Business or other related area Black Belt or Master Black Belt is preferred



+ Demonstrated ability to excel in all customer service areas



+ Responsible for meeting customer/business needs as well as developing direct reports
