Job Description

Teva is searching for a Group Leader, Maintenance & Engineering (Utilities) to join our team in Irvine, CA!

As a Group Leader, Maintenance & Engineering over Utilities, you will be responsible for the reliable plant operations of utility-based assets and processes at our Irvine manufacturing site.  This key position will ensure that utility-related systems and assets function efficiently; and that maintenance work is properly planned, safely executed, and thoroughly closed out by internal resources and external contractors. 

 

You will:

  • Manage Utility services for the site, including Clean Steam Generation, Water for Injection, Reverse Osmosis, Clean Compressed Air, Nitrogen and critical Air Handlers; ensuring they perform reliable, safely and meet site and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance work for the assigned Utilities Maintenance staff is performed safely, thoroughly and timely, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Work with outside maintenance vendors, contractors, and suppliers to provide the site with quality services.
  • Provide regular coaching, mentoring and troubleshooting assistance to the Utilities Maintenance team.   
  • Perform annual goal setting and performance reviews with Utilities Maintenance personnel.
  • Support the generation of preventive maintenance work orders; track timely completion of preventative maintenance schedule and manage the corrective Utilities Maintenance backlog.
  • Conduct and lead daily and weekly Utilities Maintenance and safety meetings.
  • Support the planning and execution of all utility-related activities during shutdowns and projects to meet organizational objectives.
  • Manage maintenance activities and the work order backlog in the site CMMS.
  • Work with the MRO team for timely procurement and acquisition of parts needed for Utility Maintenance activities.
  • Enter requisitions in the procurement systems for goods and services as needed.
  • Track, maintain, and publish maintenance performance metrics/statistics.   
  • Mentor the Utilities Maintenance staff when conducting diagnostic/troubleshooting or pursuing RCFA activities and CAPA investigations.
  • Identify any/all applicable Utility-related regulations and ensure the site is in compliance.
  • Support any site regulatory audits as required.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Minimum three (3) years as a Maintenance Supervisor or Crew Lead required.
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the use of a CMMS (e.g. EAM, SAP, and MAXIMO).
  • Experience working within the guidelines of a Quality Management System (e.g. Change Control, Quality Investigations) or State/County regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment demonstrating a customer service/servant attitude.       

                              

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience working in the life sciences or pharmaceuticals industry.
  • Three years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Associates or Bachelor degree in the Engineering field.
  • A CMRP, CMRT or CRL certification.
  • Two years of Project Management experience.
