Job Summary

Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Limited relocation housing and/or transportation allowance may be available for eligible candidates (use for formal program or by request of business) OR Relocation in the form of a transportation allowance will be provided for eligible candidates (use for all others).

As a Training and Development Associate Graduate Intern you will be responsible for supporting the Global Learning and Solutions team in developing, implementing and maintaining training solutions for the Global Learning and Performance community and internal Amgen employees. You will use various instructional design software such as the Articulate Suite, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud and interact with Learning Management Systems.

Responsibilities would include designing courseware, performing quality reviews, establishing assets libraries, supporting virtual training and other assigned responsibilities.

You will have the opportunity to foster connections between learning and development, human resources and information services.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a Master's program from an accredited college or university
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts


Preferred Qualifications
  • In the process of completing the first year of a Master's program with concentration in Education; Instructional Design and Technology; Graphic Design
  • Graduating within 12 months of internship's completion
  • 1 or more years relevant work experience
  • Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or health care industry experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Strong interpersonal, project management, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proficient in one of the coding languages (Python, Java, Scala, SQL)
  • Detail oriented
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with both internal and external customers
